Canadian Technology for Italian Buoy Network
AXYS Technologies has delivered seventeen customised oceanographic data buoys to Italy within a four-month period, a record achievement for the company. Ten of the seventeen buoys are already deployed and operational within various Italian ports; remaining buoys will be deployed in the next few weeks.
The data buoys are based on the well proven WatchKeeper buoy platform and TRIAXYS Directional Wave Sensor. Wave, wind and other data from the buoys are used by local mariners and port authorities to make vessel traffic management decisions. The Italian government also uses the data for wave and climate research studies. Live data from these buoys can be seen at the link below.
