Carisbrooke Shipping ECDIS Order

UK-Based shipping company "Carisbrooke Shipping" ordered 10 Navi-Sailor 4000 dual ECDIS MFD systems for their new build vessels being built with Transas Marine (UK). The build program of the vessels means the first of the ECDIS will be delivered before the end of 2008 and the remaining being delivered over a period of 3 years.

Carisbrooke Shipping currently own/operate around 40 modern dry cargo vessels, ranging from 3,000dwt upto 20,000dwt and have actively been modernising their fleet in the recent past with an average age today of around 3 years. Further complementing this modernisation, they have a new building order book which will add a further 15 units until the year 2010 from shipyards in Spain, China and Japan.

In selecting the Transas ECDIS for their new-build vessels, Carisbrooke Shipping took into account a wide variety of factors such as the usability (user-friendliness), reliability and functionality of the system.  In addition training and service/support were important criteria that were taken into account before they decided on Transas as their preferred supplier.
