Chinese Research Vessel Visits Hong Kong

A three-day visit of Dayang Yihao (Ocean No.1), China's research vessel, solely sponsored by CNOOC Limited, took place in Hong Kong recently, a part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Hong Kong's return to China. Dayang Yihao is the only deep-sea research vessel in China.

Dayang Yihao is designated to carry out scientific research at water depth of over a few thousand metres. At the invitation of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and with the full support of CNOOC Ltd., Dayang Yihao arrived in Hong Kong and was open for public visit. Participation to this event has been providing CNOOC with an opportunity to work closely with members of the education, science and technology arenas, thus improving support from society in our exploration of the undersea world.
