Cuban Maritime Sciences Congress

The Cuban National Oceanographic Committee (CON), together with all the national Marine Science institutions, is pleased to announce that the 9th Congress on Marine Sciences, MarCuba'2012, will take place at Havana's International Conference Center from 29 October to 2 November 2012. Based around the theme 'Coastal and Marine Sciences at the Service of Society', the event is open to scientists and other professionals related to coastal and marine science, observation systems, services and technologies, educators, sociologists, economists, businessmen and policymakers.

The Organising Committee is sending invitations to key personalities, governmental and non-governmental organisations, and other national and international agencies. The organisers are confident that this Congress will be as successful as MarCuba'2009, which attracted more than 1,100 participants from 25 countries.

Abstracts must not exceed 250 words. They must be received by 1 August 2012. The abstract presentation structure is: Title of the paper (in uppercase and bold letters), author(s), institution, address and e-mail. The Scientific Committee of the Congress does not guarantee papers submitted after the deadline can be included among the documents of the event. Further details are published on the conference website.

An exhibition will be organised at the International Conference Center simultaneously to the congress, thus propitiating an ideal framework for marine institutions, firms, publishing houses, consulting agencies and manufacturing and marketing companies related to this field to show and promote their products.
