Echoscope Real-Time 3D Sonar System Contract for CodaOctopus

CodaOctopus announce a contract award from Baggermaatschappij Boskalis bv, which further expands the rapidly growing Echoscope 3D real-time imaging sonar customer base. The sonar, built on patented Echoscope technology, will be used by Boskalis in their worldwide construction, dredging, engineering and coastal protection projects.

The sonar provides the capability to visualise, in zero visibility conditions, the subsea environment in three dimensions and to make real-time measurements without the need for post-processing data. Ultimately their investment in this unique technology will make Boskalis' projects safer and more efficient.

Identifying the 3D visualisation capabilities of the Echoscope system, Sjoerd van den Brom, Survey Manager, commented, "At Boskalis we are continually investigating new, innovative and leading-edge technologies. From our experiences at numerous worldwide projects we know that adding a further Echoscope to our global operations will enhance both safety and productivity."

Stephen Auld, CodaOctopus Products Managing Director added, "Boskalis was seeking a technical solution that would provide them with a flexible tool which is suitable for their numerous projects. The Echoscope technology is ideal for many of their immediate tasks and its suitability for future applications is assured with further capabilities and customised software from our development team."
