First Mexican Hydrography Convention for World Hydrography Day

The First Mexican Hydrography Convention is to be held from 19 to 21 June 2013, coinciding with the celebration of World Hydrography Day. The aim is to promote the use of Mexican hydrographic information in the planning, management and monitoring of the sustainable exploitation of the sea and its environment by the federal government and maritime industry.

The General Office of Oceanography, Hydrography and Meteorology is using the celebration of World Hydrography Day to strengthen friendship and to integrate the Mexican and international hydrographic community by organising the First Mexican Hydrography Convention in the Senior Naval Club, military zone in Veracruz, Mexico (Spanish spoken). Invited are the government sector and the private sector related to hydrographic work in Mexico, the national and international hydrographic industry, academia with interests related to the subject and hydrographic offices of Mesoamerica countries.

Presentations will be held on areas of technical specialty, and companies will be able to show the hydrographic industry their products and services. The event aims to support the exchange of knowledge and experiences within the hydrographic profession in Mexico.

A preliminary agenda is available.
