Fugro Pelagos Among Best Qualified for 3-Year NOAA IDIQ Contract

Fugro Pelagos, Inc. was selected to be among the three best-qualified firms to provide LIDAR Hydrographic Surveying and Related Support Services anywhere in the U.S. for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA-NOS). Negotiations for the three-year, not-to-exceed $30m contract are proceeding. Fugro Pelagos was selected based on a Qualifications Based Selection evaluation for these services. Fugro will mobilise their SHOALS-1000T hydrographic LIDAR system to collect data in areas deemed critical to navigation by NOAA. Future operations can include hydrographic LIDAR anywhere in the U.S. waters, including Alaska, Hawaii, the Territories and the Great Lake areas. The contract aims to help alleviate the backlog of charting requirements for updating navigation charts in the U.S. waters. It is also expected to complement NOAA’s concept that hydrography supports integrated ocean mapping.
