Fugro Pelagos to Provide AUV Survey Requirements

Fugro Pelagos, Inc, has been selected to provide the Director, Ocean Projects Department (N9) at the US Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO), support and execute AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) survey requirements worldwide, on an as needed basis. Duration of the contract is planned for a maximum of five years. The technical requirements are based on acquisition of multibeam echosounder (MBES), sidescan sonar and sub-bottom profiling data, using AUV technology. The selection process was based upon a combination of Fugro’s proven dedicated survey vessel and Kongsberg's latest AUV technology (HUGIN 3000), supported by Fugro's team of in-house Project Managers, Hydrographers, Electrical Engineers (dedicated to AUV support), GIS Specialist and Geohazards Specialist staff members. The operations will be executed from Fugro Pelagos' office at Stennis, Mississippi.
