Full Systems for New Tanker

Kongsberg Maritime has provided the Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), Alarm Monitoring and Control System, Integrated Navigation System and ME Safety and Governor for the Nordic Stavanger, a new tanker owned by Teekay and Ugland Nordic Shipping ASA. The vessel was built at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea and is currently undergoing sea trials at Stavanger in Norway.
Kongsberg Maritime has recently undergone an extensive restructuring programme to make it a full operational company comprising Kongsberg Simrad, Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems (KMSS) and the Marine IT Company (MarITco).
The new company boasts expertise in all core areas of the marine electronics sector including dynamic positioning and navigation, marine automation, process automation and hydroacoustics. Products from Kongsberg Maritime include Integrated Bridge Systems, training and simulation systems, cargo handling, propulsion control, sonar, AIS, CCTV and electronic logbooks.
