GNSS Stations for China and South America
Veripos has extended the Chinese coverage of its global GNSS-based precise positioning service for offshore oil and gas operators, establishing two new reference stations in Shanghai and Shenzhen. In South America, a new reference station in Buenos Aires (Argentina) has been introduced.
The Chinese reference stations complement the existing infrastructure in Tanggu. They provide an improved coverage for present and future exploration and production activities in China. The South-American extention will be used more extensively by offshore operators in Brazil, Peru and Venezuela.
All new land-based reference stations provide rapid update rates and low data latency with correction data relayed by Inmarsat satellites. They permit computing of multi-station positioning solutions for added reliability and precision and they are compatible with all types of GPS receivers using the RTCM SC104 v2.1 correction format. However the standard service allows accuracies up to 1-2m up to 2000km, using Veripos’ Ultra Precise Point Positioning (PPP) for correction or modelling of GPS system errors, this can be refined to decimetric level.
