CARIS has released HIPS and SIPS v.7.0, their hydrographic processing system.Version 7.0. includes new features to assist hydrographic professionals in realising the full potential of their data. With special consideration given to the performance requirements of users for handling large volumes of multi-beam data and advanced 3-D visualisation capabilities, HIPS and SIPS v.7.0 will revolutionise the user experience.
An updated user interface presents an intuitive working environment while new back-end multithreading of simultaneous processes delivers improved processing speeds. A redesigned 3-D window adds to the intuitive user experience, with support for on-the-fly editing of 3-D surfaces now included.
The integrated implementation of Geocoder technology will see the evolution of HIPS and SIPS into the new areas such as seafloor classification. Moreover, it will enable users to complete all bathymetric and backscatter processing workflows through a single application, fostering quality and consistency across processes.
