IHMC Study Completed

International Hydrographic Management Consulting (IHMC) has recently completed a study on a Long-Term Strategy for the UK Civil Hydrography Programme (CHP) commissioned by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The CHP is responsible for hydrographic surveys around the United Kingdom in the interest of civilian users, including commercial vessels, fishing vessels and leisure craft. Much of the output of this programme is passed to the UK Hydrographic Office that produces the Admiralty charts and other publications. The present study involved examining the technology being used, the technology available and the administrative procedures involved. It also included making some long-term projections of the work yet to be done and the time and resources that would be required to complete this work under differing scenarios.
