Improvement of Australian ENC Coverage
HSA Systems has been awarded a major contract to assist the Australian Hydrographic Office achieve full ENC coverage of Australian waters by 2010. IIC Technologies Inc has been selected as the subcontractor to HSA. The team will compile from source data 82 new paper charts and 322 ENCs, and will also perform conversion and remediation work on 38 existing charts.
The program will also have the additional benefit of replacing all of Australia’s fathoms charts with up-to-date metric charts.
The contract commenced in January 2007 with an agreed completion date of June 2010. IIC Technologies has also been providing similar services to other hydrographic offices including the UK, Canada and Norway. The work will be carried out to International Hydrographic Organization charting standards with final validation and quality checking to be undertaken by the AHO.
