Innomar Calls for Student Project Proposals

Innomar Technologie, Germany, embraces active support for the scientific community and is calling for student project proposals. The company will provide a SES-2000 compact parametric subbottom profiler system, on-site training and individual support on board the survey vessel for three research projects in Europe without charge.

Any student with a research project at postgraduate level (MSc, PhD) with a hydrographic component can apply. Applications include hydrography, dredging, oil & gas, ports & harbours, renewables, environmental studies, underwater archaeology and geosciences. Field work should not exceed 2 weeks, ending 30 June 2015, and must be performed in Europe. The project and its report must be finished by 30 September 2015.

Apart from active support with equipment and training Innomar will invite the student with the most successful project to present the results during the 7th workshop ‘Seabed Acoustics’ in Rostock, Germany in November 2015. The winning project will be given the opportunity to be published in Hydro International to bring the work closer to a wide audience in the hydrographic community.

A final report in English must be submitted at the end of the project (max. four A4 pages). Innovation, commitment and submission on time are imperative.

Proposals can be sent to [email protected] (max. one A4 page). Any student at postgraduate level enrolled at a European university or scientific institute can submit a proposal. The final date for submission is 31 March 2015.
