Marine Electronics to Launch Compact Sonar

A 2D imaging sonar developed especially for ROV/AUV use will be launched at Ocean Business by Marine Electronics (Stand L12). The Dolphin See View is a 700kHz system that has evolved from the company’s existing Dolphin 3001 model but will introduce a number of key advantages. Notable among these are its compact size and light weight which will make it an ideal choice for use in small ROVs/AUVs as well as for other applications on surface craft.

The design will also introduce the benefit of Ethernet connection integral to the underwater unit to provide increased versatility and ease of use. It is expected to be found superior to existing sonar in this category in terms of both price and performance.

The Dolphin See View joins a range of sonar products developed by Marine Electronics. Visitors to the company’s stand at Ocean Business can discover the full specifications of the new sonar and discuss how it might meet their needs for high performance technology at a competitive price.

Marine Electronics is based on the UK Channel Island of Guernsey and is structured so that it can work closely with customers in the development of products aimed at addressing specific challenges in a range of marine and industrial applications. Products include a forward-looking 3D sonar with a one kilometre range, sonar that are capable of following the movement of individual grains of sand during surveys of seabed scouring around offshore wind turbines and others that can observe the build-up of sludge in sewer pipes or oil storage tanks.
