New AAE Boomers

Applied Acoustics Engineerings has made two new additions to its range of sub-bottom profiling equipment manufactured by Applied Acoustic Engineering (UK). The CSP50 and the CSP100 are the latest Seismic Energy Sources to be produced by the company, and can be used with its AA200 boomer plate. With a fixed energy output of 50 Joules, the CSP50 operates at 8 pulses per second, a very short, high-resolution sound pulse ideal for shallow-water applications. The CSP100, as its name suggests, gives 100J at 4 pulses per second, allowing it to be used as a low-cost alternative to larger energy sources when conducting inshore seismic surveys. Coupled with a new design of small catamaran, these new models have been developed for use as small-boat systems. The CSP50 and CSP100 are suitable for, among other applications, river and estuary surveys, sediment studies, marine archaeology and as a replacement for chirp/pinger systems.
