Metocean Services International (Pty) Ltd (MSI) announced that Stefan Stimson has joined their management team. Formerly with Marconi UDi and the National Marine Dredging Company, Stefan has spent the last twelve years with Thales GeoSolutions, the first five years seconded to Thales office in Egypt where he reached the position of Operations Manager. In 1996, Stefan was promoted to the position of Operations Manager for the International Services Division of Thales, running all projects in West and Southern Africa, including vessels and offices in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. This role resulted in his relocation to Cape Town in 1998, where he helped establish the Thales Cape Town office as the HQ for African operations. In January 2001, Stefan transferred to the Environmental and Metocean Services division and was promoted to Business Unit Manager. As well as developing this division, he was also given full P&L responsibility for all Thales metocean business around the world. He remained in this position until he left Thales in October 2003.
