New Portable Echo Repeater System

Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG) has recently won a tender from an American company for a portable echo repeater system due for delivery this autumn, with a further system going to Singapore next year. This new system is a miniature version of CTG’s flagship towed sonar test and evaluation system, VASS (Versatile Acoustic Source System). A new low frequency hand-deployable acoustic transducer will be employed along with a portable PC for operation from small vessels. It includes much of the functionality of the larger VASS system and now operates down to 300Hz whilst maintaining its portable advantage.
