New Reference Facilities in Tahiti
Veripos (UK) has extended the Asia-Pacific sector of its global multi-source Differential GPS service network with the establishment of new reference station facilities in Papeete, capital city of Tahiti. The support includes recent introduction of the company's latest Apex service which provides decimetre-level accuracies using Precise Point Positioning (PPP) methods for correction or modelling of all GNSS error sources.
The new station will help facilitate further seamless, fully redundant high accuracy support for a wide range of offshore positioning tasks presently being provided by Veripos to growing numbers of users in south Pacific regions as part of its worldwide operations.
Commenting on the latest extension to its globalised network of over 80 reference stations, Veripos technical director Bobby Johnson said that it marked a further stage in the continuing development of the company's worldwide positioning capability in response to increasing demand for its services from leading seismic exploration as well as survey and construction support operators.
