Newly Recruited Specialists at Fugro GEOS

Demand globally for the wide range of services offered by Fugro GEOS has led to the company conducting an intensive recruitment campaign. Dr Jill Bradon has joined the company as a Principal Offshore Engineering; Dr Véronique Cochin has joined the Seasystems Division, as a Senior Metocean Specialist; and Maikel Laukens has joined as Operations Manager for the Weather Forecasting Division in the UK.

Dr Jill Bradon gained her PhD in Engineering from the University of Reading and her BSc in Naval Architecture from the University of Newcastle. Before joining Fugro GEOS, Jill worked at the University of Reading as a Research Fellow working on many offshore-related projects, including investigations into problems experienced with mooring lines. Prior to this she spent several years working as a marine surveyor concerned with the transportation and installation of offshore structures. She is now based at the Wallingford (UK) office of Fugro GEOS.

 

Dr Véronique Cochin's PhD course was in Evaluation of Ground Wave Radars for Operational Oceanography specialising in sea surface current, wind and sea state measurements by VHF/HF radars.  She also achieved an MSc in Signal tele-communications, Imaging and Radar. Her technical skills include ADCP, signal transmission/reception and her programming skills include Matlab, UNIX, MS-DOS and Windows. Her base is in the Sandnes office in Norway.

Maikel Laukens. Prior to joining Fugro GEOS, Maikel had a long career with the Royal Netherlands Navy as an Aviation Forecaster. His training as a forecaster was undertaken by the Royal Navy and he served in RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall on an exchange basis.  He also served as Senior Meteorologist and Senior Instructor in Oceanography and Meteorology as well as Underwater Acoustics, ASW and ASuW (Anti Submarine Warfare and Anti Surface Warfare). He is based at Wallingford (UK).  Fugro GEOS with its 210 employees worldwide, provides oceanographic and meteorological (metocean) services for offshore and coastal engineering applications.
