Norcom Technology 20 Years

Twenty years ago, Norcom Technology first began to develop their bespoke software for the hydrographic industry. The company started by Phil Harris in 1986 employed just one other computer programmer, Aaron Liddiment, who is still working along with Phil on the new development projects. The Company is still situated at the same premises in Norwich and the offices are currently being modernised so as to keep abreast of the various building regulations and to ensure there is adequate space and resources for the comfort of staff and customers. During the 20 years, Norcom has been involved with projects for ports and harbours throughout the world and most recently was able to assist in the Langled pipeline project in the North Sea by supplying their CAMS (Catenary Anchor Monitoring Software) windows based program to the company awarded with the work. Norcom continue to progress with their abilities to modify any of their programs, so as to enable the software to be used in more or less any survey situation. Norcom is also the owner of Meridian Chartware, a Company who develop Windows-based navigation software for use with ARCS (Admiralty Raster Chart Service) and who in recent years developed, in conjunction with the UK Hydrographic Office, the Admiralty Chart Plotter packs.
