OEG Renewables strengthens its position with Geosight acquisition

OEG Renewables (OEGR), a leading provider of offshore wind solutions, has acquired Geosight, a specialist marine surveying company operating across a range of sectors, including offshore renewable energy, subsea cables and civils in the UK and Europe.

Geosight, founded by Brian and Kirsten Gamet in 2016, has established itself as a trusted provider of hydrographic and multisensor geophysical surveys, marine engineering and dimensional control surveys, and boasts a team of skilled surveyors based from their head office in the historic cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire, England.

The acquisition of Geosight by OEGR marks a significant milestone for both companies. By joining forces with group company Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) and an existing and well-respected survey team led by Alex Richards, OEGR aims to strengthen its survey and positioning offering in UK and overseas markets. Geosight will operate under the guidance of Brian Gamet as managing director, supported by Alex Richards as operations director and their newly combined team of dedicated survey professionals.

Extended survey capabilities

“After seven years of hard work and dedication to building Geosight around a set of core principles, the decision to join OEG Renewables was, in the end, simple. OEGR and Geosight’s philosophies are clear, the key motivation is to deliver services defined by their quality and professionalism. We wanted to work with like-minded people, who want to deliver services in an ethical and professional manner while empowering diversity, autonomy and creativity, and that’s what we have with OEGR. Naturally, I am therefore delighted to begin this new and exciting chapter and to continue the growth of the survey division within the OEGR family,” said Brian Gamet, managing director of Geosight.

Geosight’s expertise will be complemented by access to OEGR’s vessels and assets, further enhancing its capabilities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Geosight to the OEG Renewables family,” said Eric Briar, managing director at OEG Renewables. “This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision of expanding our presence in the survey market and utilizing our combined resources to better serve our clients. Geosight’s track record of delivering high-quality surveying services and its strong relationship with MRE makes it an ideal partner for us.”

Recent contracts include the completion of a large-scale hydrographic survey within Scapa Flow and Kirkwall Bay in Orkney, paving the way for the development of a new deepwater facility to support wind farm expansion off the coast of Scotland.

The addition of Geosight to the OEG Renewables group represents a significant step forward in the company’s growth strategy, to provide comprehensive surveying solutions to clients across various sectors, supporting the development of critical infrastructure for renewable energy projects worldwide.
