OI China Pre-registration Open

The second edition of Oceanology International China (OI China) will take place from 3 to 5 September 2014 at the Shanghai International Exhibition Centre (INTEX). Visitor pre-registration has officially begun in the 'Visitor Registration' zone of the event website. Pre-registered visitors will be able to use the Green Channel to enter the venue without queuing, and will have priority in participating in the OI China 2014 conference forums. They also will obtain free exhibition materials and electronic newsletters.

OI China 2014 is expected to attract exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, and visitors will be able to assess the world’s leading suppliers of technology and services. Joan Zhao, the project manager of Energy and Marine Division of Reed Exhibitions, said that OI China 2013 obtained a great success in Shanghai. A total of 5,063 domestic and overseas professional attendees from 31 different countries and regions with 192 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions attended the show during the three days. 98.6% of visitors show their intentions of visiting the OI China 2014. In order to meet and be closer to the market needs, OI China 2014 will debut the Ocean Renewable Energy China Zone (OREC 2014) to fully reflect the market potential in China.

OI China 2014 has obtained the support of both domestic and international industry societies and associations. The Chinese Society of Oceanography (CSO), China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association (COMRA) and The National Ocean Technology Center (NOTC) will continue to serve as the host supporters for OI China 2014, and the Ocean Observation Technology Branch of the Chinese Society of Oceanography has been appointed as a co-event manager.

The Chinese Society of Oceanography and Reed Exhibitions will also jointly launch the underwater robot competition. It is the first national professional competition for university students throughout the country in the field of marine science and ocean technology, attracting many students to participate. It has entered the awarding stage now, and the award ceremony will be held at OI China 2014.

OI China 2014 will also hold professional forums as well as networking and social activities. The forums will open at no cost for the pre-registered visitors, providing viewers with the latest technology capability information. The forums will be divided into a Plenary Session; UUVS-Remote Technology Underwater; Ocean Observing Systems and Instruments; Offshore Survey, Geophysical and Geotechnics; Underwater Positioning and Metrology; Marine Renewable Energy. During the plenary session, Professor Ralph Rayner, the director of Energy and Environment Division of BMT Group, the chairman of Sonardyne International, and Ms. Zdenka Willis, the director of U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS), as well as Justin Manley, the senior director of Teledyne Marine Systems, will give keynote presentations. Other well-known industry experts will also attend the forum.

On the trade show floor, domestic exhibitors include Laurel Technologies Company, Beijing Time Frequency Technology, China ORES, Geo Marine Technology, Sea Tech China., Jiangsu Hi-Target Marine Information Technology, SDIOI and so on. Amongst international exhibitors are Teledyne, Kongsberg Maritime, iXBlue, Sea Botix and AML Oceanographic.
