Pangea Equipment for Italian HO

The Italian HO has introduced brand-new Pangea technology to increase its quality assessment and production capacity, both onboard its Hydro-Oceanographic Vessels and in the Hydrographic and Cartographic Departments. Nave Magnaghi, Nave Galatea and Nave Aretusa are to use Multibeam Manager to analyse and process all multibeam-surveyed datasets. The new technology is fully integrated with the already existing equipment and software tools on board. Multibeam Manager will be used by the Hydrographic Department to support not only final quality assessment but also data fusion, integration and comparison between single beam and multibeam data, no matter whether or not it has been surveyed using different equipment (Elac, Simrad, Reson). Nautical Chart Manager is going to expand the Cartographic Department digital production of printing plaques that has already been fully supported by Pangea products for many years. In addition, the improved workflow will enable provision of digital structured data ready to support Sp-57 production.
