Prime Minister Visited AWI Wadden Sea Station

The Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Torsten Albig, visited the Wadden Sea station of the Alfred Wegener Institute in List on Sylt, to learn about the work of scientists. Prof. Ralf Tiedemann, deputy director of AWI welcomed the guests and Dr. Ragnhild Asmus, head of the Wadden Sea Station explained the Coastal Research.

Subjects were also the AWI-North office, presented by Dr. Christian Buschbaum and the Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten, presented by Dr. Matthias Strasser. The Prime Minister was very receptive and interested and and discussed with scientists and researchers.

The strong relation of the AWI in the current issues on the coast became clear , from basic research to the decision-makers, especially regarding the scientific work and strategies for the Wadden Sea.
