RESON Introduces SVP70
RESON has developed a new generation of Direct Reading Sound Velocity probes. RESON’s new SVP 70 series emplys digital correlation technologies in a FPGA implementation to find the time of flight of a sound pulse in the medium with a high robustness and accuracy. The speed of sound output is selectable between instant direct readings, outlier filtered readings and low pass filtered readings.
RESON’s SVP 70 is based upon new advanced technology that makes way for improved signal processing. Bad readings caused by air-bubbles, fish, or other occurrences of marine life will automatically be detected and filtered out.
SVP is a flexible tool with wide interface capabilities, including ultra wide power supply range, programmable output, external synchronisation and dual isolated serial interfaces. It can be tailored to almost any SVP application and still work as a set-and-forget instrument.
A novel mechanical design with internal sensors allows for simpler integration with fewer disturbances from the water flow, yielding a low hydrodynamic drag and low emission of flow noise into nearby sensors like multi-beam sonars, echosounders, Doppler Logs, etc.
The SVP 70 has been developed for fixed-mount installation on surface ships as well as for submarines, ROVs and AUVs.
