Samsung and Daewoo Order Latest Kongsberg Maritime Technology

Kongsberg Maritime has received an order to supply Integrated Control and Monitoring Systems and Integrated Navigation and Safety Systems for seven LNG tankers to be built at Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Korea.
The Integrated Control and Monitoring Systems and Integrated Navigation and Safety Systems are based on Kongsberg Maritime’s latest process technology. SVC-400 is a flexible distributed process control concept that utilises the RCU-400 remote process control unit (single board computer designed specifically for process control) and the RIO-400 remote I/O unit (interface module between controller computer and input / output signal remote devices).
In addition to the SVC-400 fully distributed automation concept, three of the LNG tankers will utilise a Kongsberg Maritime Navigation and Safety System, whilst one vessel will have a Kongsberg Maritime Integrated Bridge System installed.
