Seatronics Invests in Kongsberg Maritime Technology

Kongsberg Maritime has announced the sale of an ROV HPR 408S system and associated transponders to the Seatronics Group. The system will be used to support the group’s deepwater positioning capability and ongoing rental operations.
The system is designed to enable offshore construction ROVs to operate down to depths of 4000m in USBL and multi-user LBL modes. Multi-user mode allows multiple vessels and ROVs to accoustically poistion themselves very accurately using the same small transponder array, without interference.
Offshore construction support vessels fitted with Kongsberg Maritime HPR 400 or HiPAP acoustic position reference systems are also able to take advantage of this ROV mounted system in order to speed up operations and save valuable vessel time.
