Shipyard K. Damen Signs Three Shipbuilding Contracts

The first contract was signed with Svitzer Wijsmuller, Egypt for the supply of two 14 metre mooring launches and one 14.65 metre pilot boat. The two vessels will be constructed at an Egyptian yard under the sole supervision and responsibility of Shipyard K. Damen.
The second contract was concluded with a Dutch company - Mercurius Shipping for the delivery of a so-called AMSBarge. The AMSBarge has a length of 86 metre, a breadth of 11.45 metre and a capacity of 144 pcs. 20 ft containers. Moreover, for the loading and unloading duties, the vessel has its own hydraulic crane making it unique to its kind.
The German shipping company Bugsier GmbH issued a contract to Shipyard K. Damen for the construction of a 65 ton bollard pull tractor tug on 27th February. With a length of 30.60 metre and a breadth of 11.75 metre the propulsion of the tug is stimulated by means of two main engines with a total output of 4.050 kW and two rudder propeller installations.
The above-mentioned vessels are due to be delivered in 2005.
