Sidescan Sonar for Boca Raton Police

International Industries (III, USA) has recently sold and delivered an EdgeTech 4125-P 600/1,600kHz sidescan sonar system to the City of Boca Raton Police, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. This was purchased on the III GSA Contract. This is the 33rd of these sonar systems sold by III.

The 400/900kHz set can be used for shallow water survey applications, providing a combination of range and resolution. The 600/1,600kHz set is suited for users that require ultra high-resolution imagery in order to detect very small targets (for example in SAR applications). Major applications, in addition to the SAR and harbour security tasks include geohazard surveys, route survey, geological/geophysical survey, and archeological survey.

The 4125-P systems are low-cost, digital telemetry sidescan sonars specifically designed for search and discovery plus harbour security. The systems are portable with a small water resistant topside processor allowing the sonar to be operated from very small boats.

Two dual simultaneous frequency sets are available for the 4125 depending on the application.

Power input is 12/24VDC or 110/230VAC. The towfish weighs 34lb. Built-in depth and altitude sensors provide control of the system down to 100m.

US State and local agencies can purchase these items on GSA if they are intended for disaster recovery activities.
