SIG France Delivery to Meridata

Kim Ola, from Meridata Finland, has taken delivery of the SIG Pulse S1. The SIG Pulse is the new generation of energy sources developed by SIG France. It is a light energy source of 35kg, with the easy adjustment of the power: from 20 to 300 joules by small steps of 10 between 20 and 60 joules and steps of 20 onwards. This enables tuning of the energy according to the geological environment.

Meridata integrates the SIG sparker/boomer with its multifrequency sub-bottom profiling systems. With the latest generation of dual-band chirps operating on frequency bands 2-9kHz, 10-20kHz, 20-40kHz, and the boomer or sparker association, Meridata covers a wide range of frequencies, to achieve the penetration in the bedrock and up to 4cm of true sediment layer resolution in the fine sediments. All the sound sources are used simultaneously, with intelligent trigger management which minimises interference between the different acoustic subsystems.

Meridata will deliver the complete integrated system to Brazil next month.
