SMD Hydrovision Licences Bathymetric System Technology

Sonavision and SMD Hydrovision have reached agreement for the transfer of service and calibration the UK90 and UK94 Bathymetric systems and design and development of a successor. These products were developed in the 1990’s and quickly became market leaders. Many remain in use today. Sonavision will, under licence, offer service and calibration services for the systems from their Aberdeen base, and will introduce an updated version in late 2006 as part of their new complete ROV sensor package.
A Bathymetric, or “bathy�, system, normally mounted on a remotely operated vehicle, measures depth of sea water, temperature and altitude above the seabed for display, logging and navigation at the surface.
