Statoil’s B-11 Decommission Project

DeepOcean, headquartered in Norway, has been awarded a contract by AF Group in connection with the removal and recycling contract for the B-11 riser platform cessation project for Statoil, on behalf of Gassco as operator for Gassled. The contract is an option in the existing contract awarded to DeepOcean in 2011 by AF Group for similar work at the H-7 platform, which has now been declared.

The platform, which is part of a gas pipeline system that transports gas to Europe, is located on the German continental shelf of the North Sea. The work covers planning, engineering and execution of subsea removal work on the jacket substructure as well as preparatory inspections and seabed intervention work offshore. In this context, DeepOcean will use its own vessels as well as ROVs and various cutting equipment.

The estimated contract value is in excess of NOK75 million. The work will start immediately and will be completed by the end of 2016.
