The Port of Corpus Christi Orders Norcontrol IT VTMIS

Tideland Maritime Systems (subsidiary of Tideland Signal Corp.) has won a contract to supply the port of Corpus Christi, Texas, with a complete Vessel Traffic Management and Information Service (VTMIS) from Norcontrol IT. The contract is a result of the teaming agreement between Tideland and Norcontrol IT, which commenced in July 2003.
The complete system will consist of camera surveillance, two radar tracking systems, an automatic identification system, and a microwave communication link. The information will be collected and displayed using the Norcontrol IT VTMIS 5060, which is already in use in major ports around the world. The VTMIS 5060 offers a powerful and efficient way to process and display vessel information to the advantage of all aspects of port operation from safety and security to vessel tracking and voyage management.
