ThinkGeo Announces The Release Of TIGER 2005 SE

ThinkGeo released TIGER 2005 Second Edition in Shapefile format. TIGER 2005 SE offers GIS developers an access the latest and most complete set of United States geographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau in the industry standard Shapefile (.shp) format. Although TIGER/Line files are available free of cost from the U.S. Census Bureau, TIGER/Line files are only provided in a native format (ASCII text) that must first be converted into Shapefile format before being used by most mapping and GIS software applications. With TIGER 2005 SE, GIS developers will have easy access to geographic and cartographic data in Shapefile format that is sourced royalty-free from the U.S. Census Bureau. TIGER 2005 SE can also be organised into data separated by either county or state, depending on the dataset size and number of files a developer wants to use. Some of the geographic features of TIGER 2005 SE include: detailed state and county roads, files for all counties in the United Sates as well as Puerto Rico and Island Areas, landmarks, census tracts, county census divisions, traffic analysis zones, hydrography, water polygons, zip codes, and much more.
