Veripos Extends Global DGPS Network
Veripos has extended its dual-frequency satellite-delivered Differential GPS service for offshore users in Asia-Pacific regions with establishment of new operational facilities in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
The new facilities comprise a series of strategically-sited reference stations at Dampier, Darwin and Broome in Australia, Jakarta and Balikpapan in Indonesia, Kemaman and Labuan in Malaysia, as well as locations in Singapore and Bangkok.
All stations collectively provide rapid update rates together with low latency raw GNSS and pseudo-range correction data, with fully redundant communication links via Veripos’ main Network Control Centre (NCC) in Aberdeen. Delivery is via a high-power beam on the Inmarsat 109E satellite with both Veripos Standard (L1) and Standard+ (L1/L2) services available.
In common with other Veripos worldwide networks, delivered data permits computation of multiple reference station position solutions for added reliability and precision while being fully compatible with all types of GPS receiver using the RTCM SC104 V2.3 correction format. Positional accuracy is typically 1-2m over ranges up to 2000km.
