First Open Source Initiative for CARIS

CARIS, Canada, has released its first open source API. CARIS OSCAR-js, a JavaScript Map API, allows custom web maps to be created and embedded on a website. The API was created to help shape CARIS Spatial Fusion Enterprise and includes tools for navigation, measurement and download, as well as providing a means for developers to create their own custom tools and extensions. Ocean Science Day 2019 Open for Registration

Ocean Science Day 2019 being held 27 June, and still open for registration, is where ocean scientists, decision-makers, educators and users of ocean science and technology will meet at UNESCO in Paris to discuss how ocean science can deliver a more sustainable society. NOC Open for Business at Ocean Business

Atlas to Open Office in Lowestoft

In May 2015 UKPS Offshore, focusing on high-quality ROV personnel, decided to close its doors for good. The remaining contractors were left to look for alternative agencies and the staff had to find new jobs. At the time of the closure, Atlas Professionals director Andrew Blears approached two of UKPS’s staff, team leader Tonia Weldon and personnel coordinator Rosie Parr. Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet, USN, will be joining Honorary Co-chair Dr. Rick Spinrad as OCEANS ’15 MTS/IEEE Washington, DC, featured Plenary speaker. The conference will be held from 19-22 October 2015 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. Rear Adm. Calendar Contest Imagery Submission Now Open

Now in its ninth year of production, CARIS's calendar contest is back, and Canada-headquartered CARIS is now accepting submissions for the 2015 edition. CARIS software users are invited to submit their favourite CARIS images including geospatial datasets, maps, charts, 3D views and more. Images can be entered into the contest on the CARIS website.
