New Parasound for German Research Vessel

Atlas Hydrographic in Bremen has received an order to supply and instal its new Parasound P70 sub-bottom profiling and bathymetric survey system aboard RV Meteor, the multi-purpose research vessel managed by RF Forschungsschiffahrt on behalf of the German Ministry for Research & Technology. Replacing an earlier Parasound model and due to be installed in Chile at the beginning of next year, the new hull-mounted system features multi-pulse operation and is capable of providing bottom penetration in excess of 200 metres while sampling data at up to 50kHz frequency over depths down to 11,000 metres. Manufacturing Agreement between Triton Imaging and Applied Acoustics

Triton Imaging, USA, and Applied Acoustic Engineering, UK, have signed a manufacturing agreement under which Applied Acoustics will offer Triton ISIS Offshore-SB data acquisition and Perspective-SB processing and interpretation software bundled with Applied Acoustic sub-bottom profiling hardware. Applied Acoustics’ customers will have the advantage of using the proven Triton topside software to obtain high-resolution seismic data from the Applied Acoustic sparker/boomer systems. C-Surveyor II AUV

A C & C Technologies deepwater AUV, C-Surveyor II, has been delivered to corporate headquarters. C & C purchased the C-Surveyor II as a base vehicle in November 2004 and has worked diligently over the last six months to integrate and build customised components for this next-generation survey AUV. The design of the C-Surveyor II is modelled on an existing AUV, C-Surveyor I, and includes a multi-beam echo sounder, chirp side-scan sonar, chirp sub-bottom profiler, CTD system and methane detector. 2200-S AUV Sonar System

EdgeTech has introduced the new 2200-S AUV Sonar System: a combined side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler specifically designed for small, limited power budget AUVs. The 2200-S contains a Full Spectrum (‘chirp’) dual frequency 120/410 kHz side scan sonar with a swath coverage of 800+ meters. Dual-frequency 24-bit Chirp Transceiver

Falmouth Scientific (FSI, USA) has announced a new addition to its sub-bottom systems product line – a true 24-bit CHIRP sub-bottom profiling transceiver. The FSI HMS-622 CHIRPceiver and its associated transducers and arrays is developed to fulfil a wide range of survey needs. U.S. Navy Contract for Kongsberg Underwater Technology, Inc.

Kongsberg Maritime's USA subsidiary, Kongsberg Underwater Technology Inc., has received the first delivery order of US$2,132,109 USD for integrated Multi-beam Sonar Systems for the Navy. These systems include deep water multi-beam echo sounders, multi-frequency single beam echo sounders, deep water sub-bottom profilers and acoustic doppler current profilers. The systems are for permanent installation aboard the six T-AGS 60 class survey vessels operated by the US Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO). Research Capacity of R/V Tubitak Marmara Extended

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, TÜBITAK, has taken delivery of an EdgeTech 2000-DSS combined sidescan sonar and sub-bottom profiler system.
