Spatial Statistics Conference

The 1st Conference on Spatial Statistics 2011: Mapping Global Change is to be held from 23rd to 25th March 2011 at the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands. Spatial statistics is a rapidly developing field involving the quantitative analysis of spatial data and the statistical modelling of spatial variability and uncertainty. Applications of spatial statistics are for a broad range of environmental disciplines such as agriculture, geology, soil science, hydrology, ecology, oceanography, forestry, meteorology and climatology, but also for socio-economic disciplines such as human geography, spatial econometrics, epidemiology and spatial planning. RESON 2009 User Conference

RESON is hosting a user conference, training, and demonstrations in Houston (TX, USA) from 15th to the 16th October 2009, with focus on SeaBat sonar systems. Canadian Hydrographic Conference

The Canadian Hydrographic Conference was held in Quebec City from 21 - 23 June. These North American conferences are biennial events that take place alternately in Canada and the USA. The venue for this year’s event was the historic and beautiful city of Quebec overlooking the St. Lawrence River. There were 48 exhibitors and about 400 people attended from 15 countries. Several hydrographic vessels were moored in the port and open for visits and demonstrations. 7th ABLOS ­Conference

From 3 to 5 October 2012, the seventh conference of the IAG/IHO Advisory Board on the Law of the Sea (ABLOS) took place, in the Princess Grace Theatre in Monaco. This was the first time that the conference was not hosted at the International Hydrographic Bureau, but at the other side of the harbour. This allowed the conference to grow further. SeaBat Users Conference

The RESON Group, in conjunction with TOYO Corporation, held a SeaBat Conference in Tokyo the end of April. The event was extremely well attended with 130 participants from all over Japan. Lecturers were joined by RESON and TOYO personnel in the full day review of sonar systems, applications, installations and new technologies. XVIIth International Hydrographic Conference

The XVIIth International Hydrographic Conference (XVII IHC), held at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monaco from 7 to 11 May, was opened by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. A total of 71 Member States represented by 245 delegates attended. In addition to the Member States, there were 10 observing non-Member States and 11 Observing International Organisations. As is standard practice at these conferences, several survey vessels visited Monaco. In many ways, the 2014 Canadian Hydrographic Conference (CHC2014) was a departure from tradition. This bi-annual event, Canada’s turn in the ongoing US-Canada hydrographic conference series, saw a change in venue, a change in format, a refocusing of content and a step away from extravagance.
