Contros Opens Service Site in North America

CONTROS Systems and Solutions, Germany, has announced a new service site in North America - Kongsberg Underwater Technology Inc. (KUTI). CONTROS’ customers in North America are now able to ship products to the KUTI office in Lynnwood, WA for service and maintenance.

In 2013, Kongsberg Maritime AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (KONGSBERG), acquired 10% of the shares and entered into a cooperation agreement with CONTROS Systems & Solutions GmbH.

Since 1990 Kongsberg Maritime subsidiary Kongsberg Underwater Technology has been established in Lynnwood, Washington, USA as the North American centre for hydro-acoustic systems engineering, integration and customer support.  After acquisition of the exclusive commercial license for the Seaglider system from the University of Washington in May 2013, KUTI has also established a development, manufacture, sales and support facility for the KONGSBERG Seaglider Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
