Hydromagic 6.0 Collects Millisecond-precision Data

Hydromagic version 6.0 has been released to the public. The entire data collection module has been rewritten. The software collects all sensor data with a millisecond-precision timestamp, resulting in more accurate soundings. While the previous version of the software was only able to produce soundings with 1 second intervals, this can be adjusted in the new version. The files containing this original data will never be altered. ROV in Seawater Air Conditioning Survey

GDF Suez Energy Services is using a remotely operated underwater vehicle from Copetech-SM, France, as part of a vast seawater air conditioning (SWAC) project near La Réunion. Equipped with a multi-beam echo sounder, the ROV is performing deep sea bathymetric surveys.       This energy efficiency project is in line with sustainable development principles. CIS Extends RADARSAT-1 Contract

The Canadian Ice Service (CIS) has awarded RADAR-SAT-1 with another one-year contract for the supply of data for its ice-chart mapping services. With this contract, valued at CAD $1.1 million, the CIS again solidifies the continued use of RADARSAT-1 images for monitoring and mapping the movement of ice in Canadian waters. Once RSI provides the RADARSAT-1 scenes to the CIS, sometimes as many as ten images a day, personnel extract information on ice condition and location to create detailed ice charts that are electronically sent to workstations on-board marine vessels. Canadian-UK Collaboration for Tidal Sensor Technologies

Canadian and British researchers will join forces to collaborate on two projects in developing new sensing technologies for tidal energy applications.
