Saipem Upgrades to Sonardyne Autonomous Monitoring Transponder Technology

International oil and gas turnkey contractor, Saipem, has extended the capability of its Sonardyne sixth generation (6G) acoustic positioning transponders, adding functionality that makes the equipment now suitable for a wide range of subsea autonomous monitoring tasks. Deal for Sonardyne and Forum Subsea Rentals

Forum Subsea Rentals (FSR) is to substantially increase its stock holding of Sonardyne 6G Long BaseLine (LBL) acoustic positioning technology. The order for an undisclosed sum was confirmed on the opening day of Subsea Expo 2015, Europe’s largest annual subsea exhibition and conference, which is taking place from 11 to 13 February in Aberdeen, UK. Hydrographic Society Benelux

About 45 members of the Hydrographic Society Benelux attended the Hydrography in the Offshore workshop, which was held on Wednesday 18 September 2013 at the headquarters of Fugro in Leidschendam, the Netherlands. The workshop focused on two areas: survey for renewables and LBL positioning. Regarding renewables, Fugro presented the Inclinocam, which ensures that the monopiles of a windmill are placed upright at its place. Acoustic Positioning System for Ultra-Deepwater Drillship

Nautronix, UK, has secured an order to supply its NASDrill RS925 deepwater acoustic positioning system for Noble Corporation’s fourth new ultra-deepwater drillship after orders for three of its ships in 2011. The rigs will have DP-3 station keeping abilities and the capacity to handle two complete BOP systems allowing for operation in water depths of up to 12,000 feet. Sonardyne 6G and SPRINT Achieve Time Savings in Gulf of Mexico

Subsea engineering, construction and installation company, Subsea 7, has successfully used acoustic and inertial navigation technologies from Sonardyne International during a project to install flowlines, risers and subsea structures at a major new deep water field development in the Gulf of Mexico, due to commence production in 2016. Jubilee Field Ghana Contract

UTEC Survey Construction Services Ltd has been awarded a contract by Technip to provide survey and positioning services for the Jubilee Field Development, offshore Ghana. Under the terms of the contract, UTEC Survey is performing pre-lay surveys, acoustic LBL array deployment, subsea metrology and associated yard based dimensional control in association with all subsea structures.     A pre-Jubilee phase began in October 2009 with the installation of acoustic LBL arrays, which will be used throughout the main Jubilee installation programme.   The main project phase is scheduled to begin in January 2010 with the installation of 32 offshore structures.... Nautronix Sign Multi-million Dollar Contract for Vessel Controls Systems

Nautronix has signed a multi-million dollar contract with Keppel FELS Limited in Singapore for the supply of systems for their new construction for ENSCO International Incorporated. The ENSCO 8500 is an ultra-deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig. The scope of supply includes Nautronix NMS6000 multi-station Class 2 Dynamic Positioning (DP) System, Thruster Controls, Vessel Management System as well as associated environmental and position reference sensors. Nautronix will also supply their Dual NASDrill RS925 multi- hydrophone LBL / SBL Acoustic Positioning System. Delivery of equipment will be for the end of 2006 with commissioning due in 2007. Atlas Services Group (UK) has announced the appointment of Darioosh Naderi as account manager and technical consultant in the Survey Department of Atlas Services Group.
